Mokken, Marc
Hi there my name is Marc Mokken and I've been collecting comics since 1968 and original art since 1990.
My interest in American comics got an extra boost when my family and I stayed in the US for a year (1974-75).
After that I returned to the US on a regular basis to buy and trade comics and art. I started to trade comics from my personal collection in 1980.
I work as a private paper conservator in my own studio and also advise in framing and frame art.
1995 was my first San Diego Comicon and I that's where I met Dave Mckean. At this show I bought my first Mckean covers and since then he's basically the only (comic)artist who's work I collect. So if you have any or know of anybody that has Dave Mckean comic covers, CD covers, commissions or other published magazine or advertising art please let me know.
I have also started publishing fine art prints and portfolio's.
Favorite artists: Dave Mckean, Kent Williams, Frank Miller, Enki Bilal, Jaques Tardi, Hugo Pratt, Comes, Hermann. You should really check out some of these european artists, great art and great stories.
Non comic artists: Willem de Kooning, Egon Schiele, Clifford Still, Theo Wolvecamp, Gerhard Richter, Nicolas de Stael, Alberto Giacometti, Mark Rothko
