Description

Since I've started collecting comic art, the one elusive goal that has haunted me is finding a page from the classic Byrne X-Men run with a great Phoenix, one with the firebird effect, an image burnt in my mind since childhood.
This has been a VERY long quest (discussions started 3 years ago for this page) and I almost gave up a few times as I counted less than 10 pages in the entire Byrne run with Phoenix (or Dark Phoenix) surrounded by her firebird.

When I received the page, I realised holding it felt like holding an actual piece of my own childhood memories. I've never felt such nostalgia when owning a page. But after all, it's STILL my favorite run, the oldest issue I remember reading again and again, my favorite art team, my 2 favorite X-Men fighting my favorite villain, some of my favorite Claremont dialogues... and, more than anything, my favorite image of Phoenix ever.

So all of this makes this acquisition very personal : I've never been happier to own a page ! I wish all of you, fellow collectors, to find your own personal grail.

I agree that it's all connected and therefore all part of the Dark Phoenix saga. That's what made this entire run so brilliant !

Alex, bonjour et.....wow. I had this page on CAF for six years, and you have surpassed and swamped my stats with views and comments in just the six months that you have had this incredible page posted. It is hard to believe that a year has passed now since we entered into serious negotiations for this page. I miss this page dearly, but I am very proud that I owned it for 10 years. May you enjoy it as much as I did.
