Description

I'm thrilled to join the ranks of those who have obtained a piece from the first comic they ever collected!

In 1971, I purchased issues #99 and #100 of the Amazing Spider-Man from the local drugstore. Ever hear a clerk say "This isn't a library!"?, I have. Anyway, this small purchase led to 30 wonderful years of collecting comics. I sold my comics recently, but, my love for the medium has never waned.

In 1997, when I first started getting serious about collecting original art, my immediate goal was an original from ASM #99. I never thought that I would accomplish this, but, (remove long, meandering, boring story here), I did and it only took 18 years!

Recently, I completed a deal with Mike Burkey, for the very last page to that very first comic that I collected. I think that last pages, in and of themselves, are pretty cool, but, I'm also excited that this page ties into the next anniversary issue. It's almost as good as having a page from both issues!

This is as good as it gets for me. Game over. I'm taking my toys and going home!

For me, the Peter/Gwen pages are more memorable than 99% of battle pages from the series. Congrats!

Who says there are no happy endings for Peter Parker? This is a great page with a great personal story to go with it. Big congrats Jeff!

Congratulations on finding a page from your very first comic!!!! I have to echo Gene's sentiment that the Gwen Stacy character pages with Peter is often times even better than the best battle pages. Fantastic page!!!!

It's true that every time a comic art collector acquires a long sought grail, you hear a bell, and an angel gets his wings. Congrats, Jeff!

The interaction of Peter Parker and Gwen made the Spider Man series for me. Perfectly penciled by Kane, this page is pure nostalgia.
