Description
I was fortunate enough -- okay, not fortunate; it required skillful planning -- to be first in line at Darick Robertson's signing event at my LCS. Darick was surprised, I think, that I had devised a CE concept specifically for him. I gave him Night Thrasher, formerly of the New Warriors (a book Darick drew for nearly three years), and the Night Man (a hero Darick cocreated for Malibu Comics), and turned him loose. This scan doesn't come close to representing Darick's gorgeously rich pencil technique. It was amazing to watch this drawing take form -- and even more amazing to realize that Darick went from blank page to completion in about an hour and a half. Not only that, but Darick could not have been more gracious or accommodating.
