I've seen this piece in person many times. One of the best Berkey paintings ever. I never thought the owner would let this go.

Weren't you like 6 months old in 1977...?? Seriously, congrats - I know you've wanted this for a whale... I mean while! :p

Pretty stunning! Berkey really captures what it's actually like to have a colossal bloodthirsty killer whale smash through your fishing boat in this painting. This takes me back to that fateful day when I got me first hook... yaarrr!

One of the most memorable images from the 70's. This one really takes me back to standing in line as a kid at the theatre and being spellbound by the captivating movie posters.

I do not know how I missed commenting on this art, but I definitely echo how this image's resonation was on just about every Marvel comic book published in 1978/1979 promoting this movie. As a wee lad, this image shocked me enough to not want to see the movie. Great addition to your collection.

I saw the movie when it came out, and I own the DVD. Loved it!!! This is one bad-ass painting. I had wondered about it's whereabouts and have even fantasized about owning it. Kudos to you! It's a beauty! One of the classic images for anyone who grew up in the 70s. Just awesome!!!

I've stared at this painting since I was a kid as it appeared in an old ad on the back of marvel comics in the 70s. Superb job tracking down this classic!

Bill needs to add "back cover" as an art type option, and in the the annual Lowery Best of, just so this can be the sole entry. Just incredible. Better than a classic comic cover.
