Description

I always held a special affection for the Golden Age's original Black Cat, one of the first costumed heroines to headline her own title, and the inspiration for dozens of distaff do-gooders who followed. (DC's Black Canary is almost a direct swipe of the Black Cat, right down to the motorcycle.) When I spied James E. "Doodle" Lyle's action-packed pencil drawing of the indomitable Ms. Turner, I immediately snatched it up. Bob Almond bluelined the 8-1/2" x 11" image onto a 11" x 17" art board and finished the piece in ink. I hung this beauty on my office wall the moment it arrived in the mail.
