Description

As depicted here by Scott Rosema, Wildfire may be one of comics' great lost heroines. Something of a female Human Torch, Wildfire made her first appearance in Quality Comics' Smash Comics #25 in 1941. Artist-creator Jim Mooney reportedly modeled the character after his first wife. (If that's true, Gentleman Jim was a lucky fellow.) Unlike many of the Quality heroes who have been resurrected by DC Comics in recent decades, Wildfire remains in oblivion, probably because of the Legion of Super-Heroes character with the same code name. Too bad... she makes a terrific Bombshell!
