Description

Moon Girl holds a unique distinction as the only superhero published by EC Comics, infinitely better known for its horror, crime, and sci-fi books (plus a little thing called MAD) than for action-adventure. Moon Girl's short-lived series is also remembered for its near-constant title changes -- it morphed from Moon Girl and the Prince to Moon Girl to Moon Girl Fights Crime and finally to A Moon, A Girl... Romance (at which point Moon Girl herself was dumped in favor of soap opera-style melodrama) in the span of just nine issues. Our lunar lass is depicted here by Michael Dooney, the first Bombshells! creator with real-life nose art experience. Mike's gorgeously rendered emblems adorn the aircraft of the 104th Fighter Wing, a.k.a. "The Barnestormers," based in Westfield, Massachusetts.
