Well, I may be too old to believe in Santa, but considering what the Easter Bunny just dropped on me, Iím definitely a life long fan of the old furball. LOL!

Actually this is, my ďunofficialĒ WonderCon purchase from Hans Kosenkranius at Tri-State! Wait, I know what you're all thinking. Eric told me that he didn't even GO to WonderCon! And furthermore, Hans didn't go to WonderCon this year either! So what the @#$% is Eric talking about???

Well, youíre right, I didnít attend my local con this year. My boss wouldn't give me Friday off and I had funeral services over that weekend. So how the heck did I end up with this piece then?

Well, it was late Sunday afternoon, the last day of WonderCon, and I was feeling kind of down about missing the show and of course the funeral services for my friendís dad. So I did what I always do to perk myself up, I logged on to CAF to see what was new. And what do I see while Iím checking out the daily Most Viewed list? This very familiar Terry Dodson piece. Not only that, but it was actually for sale!

Anyway, I immediately emailed Hans, who replied shortly thereafter and told me he had just gotten off the phone with someone at the con who told him that we really didn't miss much. Then we started talking about this piece and eventually settled on a payment plan that included some trade. Yet ANOTHER time payment deal for me! Seems like thatís all Iíve been doing lately! LOL!

Anyway, as much as I hate the clichťí, the third time was the charm for this piece I guess. I first saw it at Terryís table in San Diego, but unfortunately I had already ďliberatedĒ all my convention funds and was unable to bring it home. The second time I saw it was in TCís gallery, but it wasn't for sale at the time. I lost track of it after that, but when I saw it in Hansí gallery, I knew we would be able to work something out.

If I had known that it would take me almost 8 years to replace my Terry Dodson example, I never would've sold the one I had (see Sold Gallery)! At the time, Terry was an up and coming talent who seemed to be on the fast track to comic stardom, so I had every confidence that another nice representation could be easily found down the road. It just turned out to be a very loooooong road. LOL!

Iím sure many of you are already familiar with the image by now. Iíve always liked the piece and Iím happy to have a Dodson example with so many of his trademark female figures. Not that Terry and Rachel canít draw dudes! Iím just more pleased with this one, for obvious reasons! LOL!

Again, my thanks to Hans for his flexibility and patience (and for keeping my WonderCon weekend from being a total loss). Hanís and his lovely wife Mary are two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet, so if you see them at one of your conventions, by all means say hello and chat. You'll be grateful for the experience!

A gorgeous Dodson piece that I had the pleasure of owning at one time not too long ago. I had to let it go in one of my bigger trade deals but ended up really happy in the long run. It is very cool to see it ended up in a great collection. Congratulations Eric!!!

Its just one of those pieces that will always get a rise out of a good fanboy art collector. Enjoy it, a wonderful piece that would surely have stayed in my collection if I wasn't wittling down

Eric - Your timing in acquiring this piece is uncanny! This piece may predict the future! While no one likes an economic downturn, one of the "benefits" of such a situation is that, as joyfully depicted here and as in (almost) every 1970s movie ever made, the only jobs apparently available for beautiful busty women during a recession are in the car wash. More seriously, Terry Dodson is one of my personal favorites, and this is a great example why, he conveys sensuality and emotion so effortlessly, it should be illegal, and his wife is his best inker ever covering those succulent pencils with smooth sensual inks. A tremendous piece, ever more rare and special because it highlights the fabulous Phantom Lady one of the most historically significant "good girls," whom Terry has rarely drawn. Tremendous Congratulations!

Thanks Artemis! I love that Phantom Lady as well. But that probably says more about my age than anything else! LOL! I just wish she had been done as large a figure as Batgirl. Oh well, maybe that's something I can talk to Terry about in the future! =)

Hmmm... Fun lil' anecdote bout this one. A winner for sure for a Dodson. Only part, gotta bust your balls. It's missing Harley, gotta have Harley. But, on the plus side, there's that Tiger striped dame again, so all good I say. So i imagine this one is huge. On these wide screen ones, you have'tah tell how big she is. Also, when she was in your lap, how big did you get? ;P

As Harley is just about my favorite female character, I agree with you 100% Wade! Unfortunately, I think this is a lady HEROES pinup and, as a villain, Harley is automatically disqualified. Not that I would've complained if he had snuck her in! =)
