The new cornerstone of my Comic Art Collection -- Unbelievable it's still together after all these years!
Every comic book fan will probably be able to recollect only a few comic books in their whole lifetime that, for whatever reason, made such an impression that the experience of reading the book for the first time will always be remembered. That is this book to me. Hands-down, my favorite comic book EVER. Full stop. It's still kind of a pinch-me dream-come-true that I'm fortunate enough to own this now.
This book was somewhat heavy with surprint color effects. Most of them are swirly/energy effects of one form or another. I decided to display only those surprints that had plot implications, and took the liberty of layering them into their pages with Photoshop before posting them here. They appear in grey on their respective pages, and are shown together on the final page of this gallery.
Nerd alert - as a kid, I always read this comic with the 'Ark Theme' from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' running through my head - give it a try!
