1. Please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm 39 years old. I work as a Freelance Flame artist here in the Detroit area. www.mattsimecek.com. I love comics probably more now than ever in my life. I think it's an amazingly powerful medium. I also enjoy movies, Call of Duty, and traveling.

2. Which is your favorite piece in your gallery and why?

Right now my favorite piece is my Wolverine Giant Sized #1 page 13 by Steve McNiven & Dexter Vines. I feel the series is among the best in the last 20 years. As far as the page itself, well what can I say, it's explosive, graphic, amazingly well drawn and of course gorgeously inked by Dexter.

3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?

The first piece I purchased was Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man #12 page 4. I found it by accident on eBay in the late 90s, purchased it, and have been hooked ever since. I discovered CAF a few years later and the rest is money out of my bank account and a lot of raised eyebrows from friends and family.

 4. How do you display/store your collection at home?

I rotate my collection in a few frames in my home and keep the rest stored in a portfolio.

5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?

1. A sweet early Marvel Jack Kirby page.
2. Another Marvel Civil War piece by McNiven and Vines.
3. Someday I plan on getting a John Byrne commission.
4. I'm still waiting for the perfect Carlos Pacheco piece. Although now he's back at Marvel I shouldn't have to wait too long.
5. Even though I'm not a huge DC fan I'd love to add another great Batman: Hush page to my collection.
