|1. Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am a 33 year old dentist. I work in private practice with my father some but spend most of my time as the owner/dentist of the first comprehensive care mobile dental company (or so I have been told). We travel the entire state of Tennessee, even up in the Smokey Mountains, to work on children in state-run facilities (foster homes, halfway houses, rehab, group homes, etc). I have the best job that any dentist could ever have. So, I may be one of the few, non-suicidal, happy dentists out there. In the past year, I have taken up MMA as a hobby as well. So, now I enjoy getting pounded into oblivion night-after-night by guys who have done this for years.
2. Which piece in your gallery is your favorite?
That is really hard to say. I have three that I love equally. My Captain America #383 Cover, Thor #75 Cover, and Wonder Woman 50th Anniv George Perez Pin-Up. They are definitely not the most expensive pieces that I own but I feel that these three items are wonderfully well-drawn pieces that perfectly capture the embodiment and essence of the characters.
3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I have been collecting comics for around 25 years but have only been into the original art aspect of comics for the past three years. Josh Nathanson at Comiclink mentioned in casual conversation that I should really check out a couple of the pieces in an upcoming auction and that was it. I was hooked after the first purchase and now have sold my entire comic collection, emptied my bank account, pawned my soul, and levied my manhood to support this wonderful addiction.
4. How do you display/store your collection at home?
I have only framed two of my pieces, the Captain America #383 Cover and the Thor #75 Cover. The rest are kept in art portfolios. One day, when life slows down some, I would like to frame several of the pieces and plaster the walls of my house with Comic art.
5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
#1 - A George Perez New Teen Titans Cover featuring Raven. (Starfire seems to be much more prominent, the Raven covers are much tougher)
#2 - A Jack Kirby Thor Cover
#3 - An Iconic George Perez Wonder Woman Cover
#4 - A Cloak and Dagger page from Spectacular Spider-Man #64
#5 - A Samuree page by Ed Benes
