Dear Comic Art Fan,

This year's New York Comic Con has reported attendance figures around 116,000 fans coming through the Javitz Center over the four days of the show. And on the floor it certainly felt like it with multiple bottlenecks stopping traffic dead for several minutes at various points. Artist alley was moved in its entirety to an annex connected to the convention hall which, by all reports, worked well for artists and fans alike. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future now that NYCC is close to matching San Diego Comic Con in terms of size.

See you next week!

1. Please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a Dutch based collector, 38 years old and I have a wife and two kids.
2. Which piece in your gallery is your favorite?

I don't have one favorite, I have many. For now let's just say the Vampirella cover from John Bolton. I could also have picked one from Jim Murray or Azpiri, just to name a few.

I have chosen the Bolton because my collection started with a piece from Bolton and because it's (I think) one of his best pieces ever.

3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?

I'm collecting art for I think ten years now. My first piece was a Man-Bat prelim from John Bolton which I bought from Mark Mokken at a Dutch comic convention.

After a few years I started buying art on eBay and finally got hooked on CAF and collecting art.
4. How do you display/store your collection at home?

Most of my art is stored in archival Itoya portfolios. I think I have about 30 pieces hanging on a wall in my house.

Unfortunately none of them are hanging in the living room. Just guess why not...
5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?

My top five would probably be something like:

-a painting from Frazetta.

-a commission from Jim Murray or maybe a nice page from one of his graphic novels (Batman/Demon or Judge Dredd/Batman).

-a vintage Biz or Chris Cunningham-Halls

-a painting from Ashley Wood

-a commission/painting/pin up from Vatine or Loisel.
