1. Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am Italian but have lived in France for almost seven years now with my wife and my little daughter. I work in the marketing/business development department for a high tech company. I love France but Italy still my country and nothing is better than good Italian food!
2. Which piece in your gallery is your favorite?
With no doubt my latest acquisition: a Batman painting from Simone Bianchi. It is a huge painting with an amazing and unusual background and fantastic details. I love the monochromatic effect and atmosphere that result from it. I am a great fan of Simone’s art and I think this piece really reflect his amazing talent… and it was a real “coup de Coeur” both for me and my wife when we saw it for the first time!
3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I always loved comics, and art in general so at one point I moved naturally to original comic art. I really started collecting in 2011 when I saw in a gallery a computer art of Soldier Zero hand signed by Stan Lee. Then I discovered eBay, and this amazing site, and I had the occasion to buy also directly from artists!
There are so many talented artists that I would like to own a drawing from all of them and at one point I was buying too much; now I am trying to better select my pieces... also because this is a beautiful but indeed expensive passion.
4. How do you display/store your collection at home?
I have some of my collection, around 12 pieces, framed and hanging on the walls; all approved by my wife otherwise it would have been difficult. Others are kept in portfolio books since I don’t have enough space.
5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
A Spider-Man painting by Gabriele Dell’Otto
A Wolverine by Simone Bianchi
A commission by Esad Ribic
A commission by Chris Stevens
A piece by Steve McNiven
