Dear Comic Art Fan,

Sadly this week saw the passing of Paul Ryan, a comic artist whose career spanned many titles including Avengers, D.P.7., The Flash, Superman, and most recently The Phantom comic strip. He also had the distinction of penciling the Amazing Spider-Man Annual in which Peter Parker and Mary Jane get married and his run on Fantastic Four lasted over five years. A lifelong Massachusetts resident, Paul was a regular at New England comic conventions and store signings where he signed, sketched, and chatted with many fans who will assuredly miss his presence. On behalf of the Comic Art Fans community we offer our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Read Paul Ryan's obituary at the link...

See you next week.

1. Please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm 33 years old and I live in Brescia, Italy. I’m working as export manager for an Italian company. I started collecting original artworks more or less five years ago. My first goal was to become owner of one original art of all Bonelli’s Dylan Dog artists. Later on my collecting passion extended to all the best Italian artists and some international artist as well. I'm happy to share my collection with all CAF visitors and members. I like exchanging comments and impressions on the quality and the beauty of the artwork I have and on other CAF members' artworks as well.

2. Which piece in your gallery is your favorite?

The piece in my Gallery I like most is a page by Attilio Micheluzzi. Micheluzzi is probably my favorite Italian author. This particular page is taken from one of the best Dylan Dog comic book.

3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?

I started collecting original comic art in 2011 and the reason why I've started is related to the emotions that these original pieces imparts to me. Thanks to CAF I had the opportunity to increase my collection very quickly.

4. How do you display/store your collection at home?

Most of the artworks are stored properly to maintain its quality conditions. Only a few of them are framed and hanging on the wall.

5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?

art by Jean Giraud
art by Hugo Pratt
Dylan Dog cover art by Claudio Villa
art by Crepax
Maghella cover art by Ciriello
