1. Please tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a graphic designer from Tuscany, Italy and obviously have a great passion for comics, cinema, and art. In Italy I founded, together with three other members, an association dedicated to the original art called "Associazione La Nona Arte" to divulge the passion of our beloved original art.
2. Which piece in your gallery is your favorite?
My favorite creator is Frank Miller and my favorite piece is his Batman from Dark Knight Returns II. It was already the art that I loved from my collection... but this year at Lucca Comics I had the chance to get it signed by Miller and now I will surely never move it from my gallery!
3. How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I started collecting in 1995, more than passion, I was just curious to understand how comics were drawn. I started buying Italian comic strips and then moving on to those that would be my favourite original comic arts, American comic books. At the beginning of 2000 I stopped buying original art, but resumed in 2006 thanks to the incredible work of Simone Bianchi! I love his work and it's all his fault I kept buying originals.
4. How do you display/store your collection at home?
Well, I prefer to keep my art hanging on the wall. I can't stand the idea of being unable to look at them every day!
5. What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
If permitted to dream I would say:
a page from The Dark Knight Returns by Miller
a page from Ronin by Miller
a Calvin & Hobbes strip
a cover from Daredevil: The Man Without Fear by John Romita Jr.
a good page of Hellboy from the first series, Seed of Destruction
