Hello Comic Art Fans!

The ComicLink Summer Featured Auction is underway, with outstanding highlights within the original art session! Impressive pieces include an FF cover by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott, as well as pair of Frank Frazetta paintings. Another incredibly historic offering is the cover for Uncanny X-Men #266, featuring the first appearance of Gambit, drawn by Andy Kubert. You'll also find work by Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, John Romita, Jim Starlin, Todd McFarlane, and many others! Click Here for all the highlights.

Comic Connect's latest auction is packed with Jack Kirby art, including pieces from Hulk #4, Tales of Suspense #23, Silver Star #2, Richard Dragon #3, Forever People #25, Hunger Dogs, and Kamandi #17. Collectors have over 125 original art pieces from which to choose. Throw in a couple of David Finch and Ed Benes covers, plus a wonderful X-Men page from issue #115 by John Byrne and you have the makings of an incredible auction.

It would have been Jack Kirby's 100th birthday this week, and many news outlets made note of the occassion with some great stories about Jack's unmeasurable contributions to our hobby. If you've not read some, check out the articles at TechCrunch, the Washington Post, Marvel's Kirby 100 Resource, and Forbes (to suggest just a few, Google 'Jack Kirby 100 years' for many more. The Hero Initiative, the charitable organization dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is celebrating the 100th birthday of Jack “King” Kirby on August 28 with a little help from Jillian Kirby, founder of the Kirby4Heroes campaign. More than 50 artists got up on the morning of August 28, 2017 to simply “Wake Up and Draw.” All drawings will be featured soon in a special gallery at ComicArtFans.com. All drawings will be auctioned to benefit Hero Initiative starting Sep. 5, 2017!

Regards,
Bill Cox

Q: Please tell us a little about yourself.
A: I'm the manager of a comic shop in Conway AR, Conway Comics. I try to get to at least one big con a year (like C2E2 or ECCC) and a few smaller ones as the come up. I've been reading comics since I was thirteen, beginning with the X-Men and expanding from there as I grew up.
