Description

Even better than the printed page. Drawing of the back pencils by John inks by Ernie.
At this time, cut and taped so part of the drawing cannot be seen but it's still there !

This is amazing. Makes you wonder why they would put so much effort into something that would never be printed. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks Dewey. I have to check but maybe it was used as some illo for a subscription ad in SSOC. Big John used to draw and draw, night an day, maybe Ernie just fell in love with these pencils and could not help inked them. Another possibility is that on the recto part of this page, yes the one printed :) you can read at the top right "Note Back". I am quite sure Roy or somebody at the Marvel Bullpen asked the drawing to be inked so it could be used as an illo in some other magazine. I already saw some of these notes on other OA page...

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the insight. It is quite a treasure.

Just found it ! It was used in Savage Tales #4 as an illo for a subscription ad. Will find my book and will add it as an additional image.
