"And a big thumbs-up to Dick Giordano's inking skills this issue, working magic on John Calnan's pencils. ... I think it's safe to say that Giordano has done more to establish the best look for Batman than any other artist."

Calnan was a good artist and I've seen a few stories that were helped by Giordano's inks. This page is a great example. But I think DG's inks totally dominate here and Calnan is "lost". Also, I agree with the quote re: Giordano establishing Batman's look.

Fantastic page Dietmar! Great job by Calnan and Giordano. Giordano was always one of my favorite Bat artists both as a penciler and an inker. His influence on Batman is undeniable and this particular version of Batman is my personal favorite.

Nice. How'd you find a Calnan? His stuff seems pretty rare.
