Seeing this piece here is so special for me because I DO have this portfolio and there are so many great plates in it. This has always been one of my favorites. INCREDIBLE! Thanks for sharing with us!

Even the giant fungi and the Spanish moss make this picture. Maybe especially the fungi and moss. Oh, and the girl ain't bad either.

I have to agree with Mark. Sexy fur-bikini clad, spear wielding jungle babes with pet tigers are a dime-a-dozen on this site, but fungi and Spanish moss…

This is just a stunning, gorgeous image... a real favorite among some heavy hitters here on CAF. I have no reason to believe this other than instinct, but I think this is the kind of thing John Buscema liked to draw to please himself... and also to remind the world of what caliber of artist he actually was. Of course, John probably decided that he wasn't going to be shown up by Severin, Kirby, Bolland, or any of the other "World's Famous Comic Books Artists" in the WFCBA Portfolio!

This might be my favorite Buscema piece other than some of his early Silver Surfer art.
