Heyst, Axel

Axel Heyst is a UK based illustrator whose chiaroscuric style evokes the works of as diverse a group as; fellow Europeans Aubrey Beardsley, Eduardo Risso and Jaques Tardi, and American masters such as Mike Mignola and Ted Mckeever. He is currently enjoying a popular level of collectability, his commissions selling worldwide. With a love of comix impossible to shed he is as we speak, after an absence of many years from the scene, developing a number of webstrip projects for inclusion on his website. Axel is not his real name.
