Here's some 70's OA for your veiwing pleasure. If you see something you like, trading is an option and offers are politely considered. Over the years I have been asked questions regarding Jack’s Kamandi run. Below is a very brief description of the series, from a OA point of view.
Kirby did the interiors for issues #1-40. Covers for #1-33
It’s generally consider that his first twenty issues are the best, with the #1-16 being the gems of the run. (Prime Royer inks.)
#17-20 are sweet (SGT Ugush’s only appearances) but they are inked by Bruce D Berry. (Great inker, just not Royer) It’s funny but “Royer snobs” forget that Sinnott was Kirby’s best inker, but I digress.
Of the first sixteen issues, only four issues are broken #’s 3, 4, 8, and 10. The rest are complete and Erik Larsen owns a good bit of them. Check out his CAF. Issues #17, 19, and 20 are broken, issue #18 is intact.
Food for thought, there is a good chance that none of the remaining intact issues from # 1 - 29 are going to be broken, ever. ALL the owners are passionate about keeping them together. This means you have a very limited selection when looking for that special Kamandi page.
Generally, if you just want a Kirby Kamandi page, issues #30-40 are the cheapest and easiest way to go. As a general rule, the lower the issue number, the higher the price but it’s all Kirby fun. It just depends on what you like.
Hope this helps and enjoy the art.
