Original Art - Jim Cheung (Scion/X-Force)

The meta-plot in the CrossGen universe involved the machinations of the Atlantean Danik to prepare against an invasion from the Negation universe. He persuaded the creatrix Solusandra to give sigils (which grant considerable power) to individuals on different planets with the aim of creating a defending army. On Avalon, a world with a mix of medieval and futuristic technology, the sigil is given to Ethan, a prince of the Heron dynasty. With a few digressions, the story revolves around his conflict with Bron, the king of the rival Raven dynasty. Most of the superb art in this series was pencilled by Jim Cheung (whose work I've admired since I firs saw his "X-Force" - 2 pages of which are in this gallery) and inked by Don Hillsman II. My thanks to fellow CAF member Bryan Wagoner for selling me 7 pages from Issue 35 and 36 and to Jim Cheung himself for the rest. Enjoy these pieces from "Scion"!
