Description
It was a blast to step out from the inker's chair and to Pencil & Ink a pinup of "Hawkgirl". After doing so much inking in recent years, (it's nice to show people that I did start out as a penciller). I always liked the character, even as a young kid reading Murphy Anderson's version of Hawkman back in the 60's --the Hawks just looked cool...maybe only "Batman" can just stand in a panel and look as good.---(The size of this art is 10 1/2' by 22 1/2' -image area--it's BIG!)

This is really an awesome piece. Not JUST a sexy pinup - great work on multiple textures (wings/stone/gargoyle). This is the type of piece that ends up in a frame.

I remember when I first saw this one. I love it. It's a toss up between this and JSA #2 Pg 19 which I have. I can't decide which I like better, but no one does a better Hawkgirl.

Oh Baby! wonderful pose, shading, and composition. And those wings! See guys, that is how you can stylize wings and make them look natural. This is the mark of a excellent inker who is that way because he can actually draw. Beautiful.

This is the finest rendering of Hawkgirl I have ever seen, without a doubt. Strong, confident, sexy and very alluring. The delicate lines on her offset by the darker tones on the gargoyle work to tremendous effect. She seems innocent and carefree, but you can tell there's a darker side to her as well. Simply beautiful Michael.
