Nick Pitarra is the artist on
The Manhattan Projects. The book explores a timeline where the Manhattan Project to build the bomb is just a minor activity and front for what was really going on. A fascinating read with wonderful art.
I met Nick and Joe Eisma at the first Space City Comic Con. They were literally starving artists so I bought them some food. Nick talked me into buying the first five issues of The Manhattan Projects from him. I'm glad I did. Since then, I have accumulated
a few convention pieces by Nick, but I've wanted a good team page for some time.
I think this is a pretty great example of one.
It features a large selection of the cast with most sitting at a table on the moon as one does.
In panel 1, we have two figures rising from the floor where they are greeted by a robot.
In panel 2, we discover that the robot has FDR's personality and memories embedded into it; the world's first AI thinks it is FDR.
In panel 4, we have (foregound first then left to right around the table, note links are to the real people, they differ greatly from their alternate universe selves)
- Around the Table
- Top two panels (not mentioned above),
- The AI that holds the mind of FDR.
