Grass Kings - Robert by Tyler Jenkins

I've read and enjoyed Matt Kindt's Mind Management, but I've never even picked up an issue of Peter Panzerfaust which features the art of Tyler Jenkins.

Moreover, I'm not sure that I even saw an ad for Grass Kings, the title that the two are producing now for Boom! Studios.

However, I picked up issue 2 more or less at random at my LCS, Bedrock City Comic Company, and was knocked out by the art. I bought #2 from them, found a copy of #1 on-line, and added it to my pull list. Why? I really enjoyed Tyler's art and I trust Matt's writing.

It's an interesting story that I think is well captured in the review linked to the title above.

The art is a watercolor of Robert, the eldest brother of the three that own this semi-autonomous community. He's suffered the loss of both his daughter and his wife and is not handling it well. Tyler's art captures the dispair of this community really well.
