Merrill Blosser - Freckles and His Friends Daily Strip - 1921 - Three Sexes!

I love old kid strips. Reg'lar Fellers, Smitty, Us Kids, etc. There's just a charm about them that draws me in. The same goes for this early example of Merrill Blosser's Freckles and His Friends, which appeared on March 19, 1921. The strip in general doesn't get a lot of love, and with good cause, and it was often pretty boring. But Blosser must have been doing something right, as Freckles and His Friends ran from 1915 to 1973(!), no small feat. I've seen 1930s examples of the strip before, but have never run across one this early. There seems to be a bit of a Jerry on the Job riff with the main characters, or maybe it's the other way around. In any event, it's a sweet, sweet strip, both in drawing and writing.
