Description
The great Matt Wagner kicked off Trinity with one of my favorite Superman comic sequences of all time. He opens the book with Clark (purposefully) running late to catch a train before shifting into a slow reveal of Superman. Along the way he gives you small glimpses of the Man of Steel before culminating the action with a heroic DPS reveal on pages 8 & 9. I feel very fortunate to have been able to get three consecutive pages so many years after the book was first published.

Awesome pages from a GREAT sequnce!  Love this page, especially - the pacing and storytelling chops here are pitch perfect (and the way Matt draws people and Metropolis architecture is really fantastic).  LOVE the image of Superman flying past outside the window of the train in panel 2, not only highlighting a "civilian" POV,  but also keeping Superman "hidden" until the glorious DPS reveal you mention a few pages later.

Love the shading on the right side of panel 3, as well as how so many of Superman's heroic efforts in this book are marked with the same interior monologue sentiment: "Hope this works".  Hope - one of Superman's most inspiring traits.

Great sequence of pages!  Congrats!

Jason, nicely said. Thanks. I agree with each of your well articulated points.
