At this point, I've gone in and highlighted the tree, using Bronze Yellow, Hookers Green Deep and Titanium White. You just take your time and highlight only as much as to need to in order to give the tree a feeling of 3 dimensionality. Overdo it and the tree will actually flatten out. Over rendering is something I see all the time when people show me work at conventions. You'll see I've begun to add foliage to the surface of the tree. EVERYTHING in a rainforest is covered by some sort of growth, and that's the effect I'm gonna be shooting for. This is a very slow and laborious process. You have to carefully place each plant, but at the same time they have to have a feeling of spontaneity and ununiformity. I was also careful to vary the colors and types of leaves I painted. This hard sometimes, as you just spent allthis time on the tree and now you're covering up alll that hard work.
