Descriptionhere's a Stat that I nabbed when I used to work up at Marvel...the Claudio Castellini_Silver Surfer book was easily one of the highlight of books in the 90's.....the original B&W artwork was over-sized & stunning..(so of course Marvel did a horrible job of printing the book.).....( Claudio's art always looked to me as if it was drawn in a John Buscema style & inked by Image/Neal Adams inker Richard Bennet...of Continuity Comic's CyberRad. )Social/Sharing |

WHAT...!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!......."Jack Kirby" is the Best, period.......and John Buscema a very close second.............( kids today, geez.)

MAN, this is gorgeous! As for the "who does a better Surfer" argument, it reminds me of that scene in the movie Crimson Tide, where the two guys are arguing the issue before Denzel Washington sets the record straight and declares that the Kirby Surfer is the ONLY Surfer! Amen brother!

This is an awesome artpiece!!! Castellini knows how to bring action and drama in his compositions!!! Special kudos to him for the work on textures and special effects!! More than a nice score!!

sorry mike,but i stick by my response. kirby never did it for me,i know what he brought to the game,but i think eisner buries him. as for big john,well,he's amazing of course...but i prefer claudio's surfer the most.

This is an amazing piece. This is how I want a battle page between these two to look. I get that Kirby is king, BUT if I'm having to watcha full length animated movie based on Claudio's style or Kirby's...I'm going with Claudio. If I'm going with a single piece with historical, financial, and nostalgic importance, THEn I go Kirby
