Roy Rogers and Dale Evans in River of Peril

This seems the best place to describe several of the images in this gallery. These all come from a line of books published by Whitman. They sold for 59 cents and were a true delight great stories and fine illustrations. Alex Toth actually did the artwork for the Maverick book. Most of the books were based on TV shows popular back in the day or featured famous celebrities like Annette, the Lennon Sisters and of course Gene and Roy.

P.S. I recently learned Michael Arens was the artist on the Roy Rogers Sunday newspaper strip back in 1957.
