the Shadow_( page 1 issue 2 )-by Michael Wm. Kaluta

back when I was in school, a bunch of friends used to argue who was doing the better artwork, Berni Wrightson on Swamp Thing, Barry Smith on Conan or Kaluta on the Shadow. It changed from week to week who came out on top, the thing of it was, was that these artists were breaking the "house styles" of the day. Back then at DCcomics you could never tell one artist from another on most of their books., but these artists were full of "piss & vinegar" and they certainly didn't seem tired !!! It was a pleasure to watch them grow in their talent, month after month.
