After entering the M'Kraan crystal, Vulcan had acquired the power of the Phoenix (by the simple expedient of murdering all its other avatars in the White Hot Room). He then destroyed the Shi’ar and Skrull empires and made his way to Earth. The upper panel shows him facing off against other members of the Summers family – Cyclops, Havok and Rachel.
