Description
A wonderful example of Douglas Rodger's later comic strip work, The Friscos, drawn for the San Francisco Progress. These strips were meant to comment on the comings and goings related to San Francisco. In this case, "The Knights of Our Highways" refers to the truck drivers in the city. The drawing is quite lovely, with a wonderful sense of design and texture. Much different than Rodger's earlier work.

Thanks for posting this San Francisco strip. I used to drive a delivery van in Chinatown. It's much easier in the suburbs.
