Description
Denys Wortman was a brilliant chronicler of the Depression era. Sometimes those Metropolitan Movies panels would tug at your heart-strings. At other times, they would give you a small chuckle. This one is more of the former, as the little girl walks into the room, she says, "My daddy says you can use his shoes to look for work today, 'cause he's sick to-day and doesn't need 'em." If that doesn't get you... From November 23, 1931. The Thanksgiving period must have been quite difficult for a family like this.
