DescriptionVIEW AUCTION LISTING HERE!21.25x28" frame contains fully painted original art for the cover to "Project Superpowers" #2, published by Dynamite Comics in Feb. 2008. This title resurrected a number of Golden Age superhero characters originally published by companies including Fox Comics, Crestwood Publications and Nedor Comics, many of whom are in the public domain. Cover features The Death-Defying 'Devil (Golden Age Daredevil) and The Flame as painted by Alex Ross. Devil throws his trademark boomerang towards viewer, which is then further enhanced by custom cut triple-matting (w/12x18" opening). The Flame is seen pointing his flamethrower gun skyward and the Hollywood sign burns in bkg. Entire image is framed in flames, w/Ross signing his name in similar colors at lower left. Additionally, a riot scene can be seen behind the heroes. w/riot police clashing w/rioters. NM and ready for display as professionally framed under Tru Vue Conservation Glass. Comes w/reading copy of the issue this art was published for. Amazing example of Ross's photorealistic art that has made him one of the most popular comic artists of the modern era. Social/Sharing |
