Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed - Hammer Film Poster Painting

The original surviving Quad artwork for "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" (1969). The initial release of the film was accompanied with a full color Quad and a 2nd version with the same artwork but just green/black in color. The film was also released as part of a double-bill with "Sons of Satan.” Chantrell took an unashamed utilitarian approach to his work and when commissioned for alternate versions or re-releases, he simply cannibalized his original artwork by cutting out pieces he could re-use (as here). The artwork shown measures 16"x 21" as adapted for "The Monster & Mobsters" double-bill poster. A rare piece of original 1960's Hammer artwork.
