Your Soul Is Mine! (Fatality!)

I met Iryna at the IX 15 Showcase and was very impressed with her burgeoning skills as an artist. She’s studied under Donato, Dan Dos Santos and Howard Lyon and you can see whispers of all of them in her work. So when she announced on Instagram that she was taking small scale commissions, potentially of film stills, I jumped at the chance and asked her to recreate one of my favorite Fatalities from the original Mortal Kombat film. Shown here is Shang Tsung taking the soul of a warrior monk after he’s had his back broken in a fight with Liu Kang. He didn’t stand a chance!
