wow what a cool piece including so many classic designs for Charlton hero characters! Mike certainly pays proper tribute to the illustrators/creators who originally spawned these characters to life. I think your gut instinct is probably correct that Jack Kirby did not pencil this and that note is about stylistic tribute or something of that nature but someone with a more discerning eye or knowledge of both Mike or Jack may weigh in who knows. either way, nice piece.

The character designs are very 60's Ditko. I'm sure the layout is Kirby fourth world and the pose of Captain Atom is taken from Kirby's Thor.

The Charlton Heroes all together. Son of Vulcan and Judo Master included! Most forget about those two when thinking about the Charlton heroes. It's only missing Sarge Steel. Great great pinup. Congrats. Mike was underated as a artist. Fun!
