Forbidden Tales of Dark Mansion was a Gothic horror-suspense-romance anthology comic book series published by DC Comics from 1971 to 1974, a companion to Secrets of Sinister House.

"Twilight Of The Cat"

Mr. William Drake, a starving artist, finds himself forced to take on a less than ideal assignment for the paycheque.

This story has it all... a stormy night to set the atmosphere, mysterious townfolk who have an ongoing feud with the hosts of the creepy mansion at which Mr Drake is a guest, an unexpected twist at the end, and cats... lots and lots of cats.

On this page Mr Drake is attempting to work at his painting so he can leave quickly but keeps getting interupted by those pesky cats he hates so much. Frustrated, Drake decides to take a break, and wanders into town in search of food. He enters a local establishment, where he is confronted by an ornery townsfolk, who have an ongoing feud with the hosts of the creepy mansion at which Mr Drake is staying.

Pencils and inks by Chan these pieces show some aging but are still in great shape.
