Tom Raney is an American comic book artist celebrated for his polished, dynamic storytelling across superhero and science‑fiction genres. A graduate of the Joe Kubert School in Dover, New Jersey, Tom began his professional career in the early 1990s with DC Comics’ Forgotten Realms line, his first paid published page.

He quickly earned groundbreaking work for Image’s Stormwatch (#37-50, late 1996-97) and DV8, teaming with writer Warren Ellis and helping shape the visual groundwork that later evolved into The Authority. Around that same time, he made the transition to Marvel, contributing to Annihilation: Conquest (2007-08), Alpha Flight/Inhumans, Ultimate X‑Men, Uncanny X‑Men, and other flagship titles in the X‑Men universe as well as Dark Reign: Hawkeye (2009-10).

For DC Comics, one of his standout runs was on Outsiders, collaborating with Judd Winick and designing several characters and costumes for the series. He's also known for projects like Avengers Academy (2010-12), Batman/Superman, The Incredible Hulk, and contributions to anthologies such as Broken Frontier, where he teamed with Greg Pak on original creator‑owned content.
