Description
This is truly an amazing piece in person! The colors and details aren't given the "justice" they deserve by only seeing this piece through an on-line image or even by viewing the printed comic. This rendition of Superman reminds me of the Fleischer Superman cartoons from the 1940's. Those early cartoons were absolutely phenomenal and, in my opinion, were way ahead of their time in terms of quality animation both in story and execution. They have always been my favorite version of Superman animation and so when I came across this piece... obviously I jumped at it. I think Steve Rude really captured the feel of the 1940's Superman here and the colors are absolutely awesome in person. I feel very lucky to have been able to add it to my collection!

He's great at that classic animation feel!  The tropes are very much from the golden age when Superman was inspiring us to be our best in the face of impossible odds when the world was at war.

Great piece by Steve Rude that captures the pure pulp style of the Fleischer Superman series from the 1940s! It definitely feels like an homage to The Mechanical Monsters episode where Superman dukes it out with several retro sci fi robots controlled by the main villain.
