It is nearly impossible to find any original cover art for the popular Captain America title available to purchase from this time period. This one, rendered by veteran Marvel artists Al Milgrom and Klaus Janson (during the same period in which Janson partnered with Miller to revitalize the Daredevil series), features a hard hitting battle action cover with Cap front and center hurling his patented shield as the other powerful Avengers team members, Thor and Vision, prepare to attack him. A chained Sam Wilson, The Falcon, looks on as the Sentinel Of Liberty fights for his life to free him. What's going on here? With five popular Avengers on one piece featured prominently and most in action, and Captain America battling against all odds, this is an outstanding cover scene from this title. It had been framed, and it is still attractively matted along with the comic book. Depending on the buyer's preference, it can be shipped to the buyer frame-ready inside the matting with the comic book or without it.
Condition Notes: opaque white is present on Captain America's face. In the top margin there is a tape pull about 2 inches long to the board but it does not affect the art area.
