Billy DeBeck - Sketch Page #12 - Annie Potts

This piece has the most British feel to it, very reminiscent of Phil May's work. It features Annie Potts and a friend. Annie states, "Shure...the ol' gintleon arsked me ter merry 'im, he's that lonesem." DeBeck seems to mix up the language a bit, from Irish to British, and maybe something else mixed in. The drawing is really quite lovely, as Annie's girth is delineated by one wonderfully varied contour line. Her haggard friend is also beautifully drawn.
