DescriptionI mentioned to Chris that I wanted to have him do an X-Men piece for me. My idea was to recreate the Jim Lee era super splash, team shot (for lack of a better name). I gave him a list of characters and told him to put them in the Jim Lee costumes but to do the piece in his own, very unique, style. It took me about 1 min to lay out my idea and he ran with it. After what seemed like maybe an hour he sent me a prelim (which can be seen in this gallery). It was about 80% what you see in this final piece. Chris is an amazing talent and a great guy to deal with. He was able to grasp my simple idea and make it into something extraordinary. I am absolutely stunned by how well he did. He even added the X-Men logo (Free Hand no less!) They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I probably ought to let it speak for itself. Thanks again Chris! This is bar none one of the ten best commissions on CAF. I have loved Stevens work and been dying to get a hold of him and this piece is exactly why. Congrats on a stellar piece.
