Mary Kramer as Gimmick Girl - Leonard Kirk

Writer Geoff Johns has mentioned at various times that if "Stars and STRIPE" had continued further then it had that he had plans to make Courtney's best friend Mary Kramer the new incarnation of "Gimmick Girl", aka "Merry Girl of 1000 Gimmicks" - an updated version of the golden age character that appeared in the original Star Spangled Kid stories. Mary Kramer was a personal favorite of mine, as was the character Gimmick Girl so I was very upset that this development was never made. It took Leonard Kirk to make the combination a reality when he did this piece for me in Toronto, August 2002. She sure is cute - isn't she people? Too bad it never happened. Hopefully one day Geoff Johns might brush the dust off the idea and make it a reality. In the meantime Mary Kramer sits seemingly forever in supporting cast limbo.
