Black Canary and Zatanna by Janet Hetherington

Done in Toronto, August 2000 by Eternal Romance creator Janet Hetherington (Best Destiny Comics), this was a chance to see the pairing of my two all time favorite characters together again. As a small boy reading Justice Leauge of America in the early 1980s Zatanna and the Black Canary quickly became the two characters I was obsessed with, and I have obsessivly been collecting them for nearly 25 years. I was in the third grade and, in my mind, girls were still icky so there is no reason or why I took to these two characters. Some accuse me of having a fishnet fetish. Perhaps. Up until recently - first in Geoff Johns "Virtue and Vice" and more recently in Brad Meltzer's "Identity Crisis" Zatanna and Dinah were not seen much together, much to this fans dismay. Janet provided an early glimpse for me. Heres hoping someday Gail Simone might have Zatanna make a visit to "Birds of Prey". That would make this fanboy fishnet lover very happy. :)
