Description
Signed by both John Buscema and Dave Cockrum at the 2000 Legends show in suburban NYC. Unfortunately, this was the last time that I talked to John Buscema before he passed away. Also, this page leads into the finale (Captain Marvel 33) of the cosmic storyline that Jim Starlin started in Captain Marvel 25.

If one researches, then you will see that Cockrum already had a good idea on how to draw (inking reference) Thanos. He was the inker on Jim Starlin's issue of Captain Marvel 26 when Jim Starlin finally revealed and showed Thanos in his full, unfettered glory as a real-life villain. Yes, many make the argument that he (or the character) appeared first in Iron Man 55. GCD says so. However, that Thanos was a robot, a lead-in, and a precursor for the cosmic madness that Starlin was about to unleash upon an unsuspecting Marvel universe. A menacingly good robot by the way. Regardless, Cockrum knew how to ink this character over Buscema's pencils to make the menacing even more menacing. Go buy Captain Marvel 33, true believer!

What a cool last panel with Thanos!

This page was my introduction to Thanos as my 7-11 didn't stock Captain Mar-Vel and the earlier Iron Man issues were before my time. Great to see it here.
