Description

A dynamic X-Men shot used for promotion in Marvel Comics in 1977. Some of Byrne's early work on X-Men. (UPDATE: This piece was published as a promotional ad on the letters page of Avengers 165 [Nov, 1977]. This was a month before Byrne took over regular duties on X-Men (#108) making the piece one of Byrne's earliest official X-Men drawings.)

In the often reapeated Keanu Reeves phrase - 'Whoa!'. I would also like to know if Marvel ever published this piece.

The piece appeared in at least one publication: the letters page of Avengers 165 (Nov, 1977). I've updated the description to include this information.

This is really interesting to see. THis looks like it was done very early in his career. You can see the influence from Cockrum
