“Dreams” extended White Wolf’s fairy RPG world into the East. The main characters are Shinma, minor divine beings whose punishment forced them to inhabit the bodies of the newly-dead and to answer the prayers of the common folk. Because it incorporated a lot of Chinese mythology well, this was quite an enjoyable book to read. Chapter 5 was about the Shinma magic called Wu Tan which allowed characters to manipulate of elemental forces. Certain spells are easier to cast when performed during a festival (this piece) which corresponds with a certain element. The Festival of the First Moon, for instance, corresponds to Wood and Festival of the Hungry Ghosts is related to Water. (Bought from Michael Gaydos, 02/2010)
